When it comes to hosting a party at your home there is a lot of prep work that goes into making sure your guests are well fed and happy. But what about the doggie guests? Why not make them their own Barkuterie Board?! This is a step by step guide on how to make the yummiest and healthiest Barkuterie Board! A meat and cheese board for dogs!

Prep Work

Collect all the kitchen utensils and ingredients for the barkuterie board.

  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Cookie cutters, various shapes
  • Ramekins, various sizes
  • Bowl, small
  • Spoon
  • Apple slicer

Barkuterie Board Ingredients

  • Peanut butter
  • Oats
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Sweet potato
  • Chicken, boiled breast or canned (if can, strained and rinsed in warm water)
  • Cottage cheese
  • Blueberries
  • Yogurt, plain
  • Egg, hard-boiled
  • Cucumber
  • Apple
  • Jerky dog treats
  • Training dog treats

Clean off a flat surface to work on.

Wash your hands.

Set up a dog bed for your pup to watch you work from!

Assembling The Barkuterie Board

Peanut Butter Oat Balls

Using a 1:1 ratio, scoop some peanut butter and oats into a bowl and mix.

Scoop out about 1.5 teaspoons of the mixture and roll into a ball.

Roll peanut butter oat ball into more oats to coat.

Repeat until the peanut butter oat mixture is gone.

Place peanut butter oat balls in a pile on the charcuterie board.

Cheddar Cheese Shapes

Cut a few slices of cheese off of the brick of cheese.

Using a cookie cutter, cut shapes out of the cheese slices. Tip: To get the cheese shapes out of the cookie cutters, use a straw to gently push them out.

Feed left over cheese scraps to your pup.

Place cheddar cheese shapes in a pile on the charcuterie board.

Sweet Potato Sticks

Trim the sweet potato, removing ends.

Cut off a slice of sweet potato.

Trim the slice of sweet potato to remove skin.

Cut matchstick sized slices of sweet potato.

Place sweet potato sticks into a pile on the charcuterie board.

Chicken Slices

If boiling chicken, make sure the chicken is cool. If using canned chicken, make sure the chicken is drained and rinsed off thoroughly.

Slice chicken into desired size.

Place chicken slices into a pile on the charcuterie board.

Cottage Cheese Dish

Scoop cottage cheese into one of the ramekins.

Place ramekin full of cottage cheese on the charcuterie board.

Blueberry Pile

Pour blueberries into one of the ramekins.

Place ramekin full of blueberries on the charcuterie board.

Yogurt in a Ramekin

Scoop yogurt into one of the ramekins.

Place ramekin full of yogurt on the charcuterie board.

Cucumber Shapes

Trim the cucumber, removing the ends.

Cut the cucumber into slices.

Using a cookie cutter, cut shapes out of the cucumber slices. Tip: To get the cucumber shapes out of the cookie cutters, use a straw to gently push them out.

Put cucumber shapes into a pile on the charcuterie board.

Apple Slices

Using an apple slicer or knife, cut up the apple into sections.

Using a knife, cut the apple into smaller slices.

Place apple slices in a fan shape onto the charcuterie board.

Hard Boiled Egg

Peel eggshell off of the hard boiled egg.

Thinly slice hard boiled egg.

Place hard boiled egg slices into a pile on the charcuterie board.

Jerky Dog Treats

Pick the best looking pieces of jerky dog treats out of the bag.

Place jerky dog treats in a pile on the charcuterie board.

Pile of Training Treats

Pick the best looking pieces of training treats out of the bag.

Place a fun shaped cookie cutter on the charcuterie board and pour the training treats into the cookie cutter.

If you have another type of training treat, fill in all the empty spots with them to make the charcuterie board look as full as possible.
